Walk, Bike, and Roll to School Day on October 9th!

What would the volunteer parent walk leader do?

Volunteers will meet at the specified location and time indicated in the attached link and supervise children during the walk. Signs will be available in the office for volunteers so that students can easily recognize them on the morning of the walk. Additionally, volunteers will be provided with a sheet of stickers to give to the students who walked with them. The signs and stickers can be picked up ahead of time or we can send them home with your child. Please indicate your preference on the Google Doc.

The Walking School Bus is a fun and engaging way to get more students physically active by walking together. Parents can either drop their children off at the Walking School Bus “bus stop,” or walk their children along with the group. This day is specially enjoyed by parents who are interested in having their child walk to school, but are concerned about letting their child walk alone, unsupervised. We encourage as many students as possible to walk or bike and get some early morning exercise.  

Every student who walks or rides their bike to school will be entered into a drawing for a $25.00 Famous Footwear gift card. One winner per Grades K-3 and Grades 4-6.

For the safety of the walking students, the front parking lot will be closed.  Parents who drive will need to find parking on the street.
